KABOOM! Una fine col botto!

E per la serie "strani" film sulla fine del mondo... KABOOM (2010), diretto da Greg Araki


Ecco un altro film in cui non si capisce bene cosa succeda alla fine. Thomas Dekker è uno studente universitario che tenta di decidere se è veramente bisessuale e no facendo tanto tanto sesso.  Ci sono strambi seguaci di sette e assurde cospirazioni. E Dekker viene rapito, e il sul discinto coinquilino surfista si rivela essere tutt’altro che un surfista. Per farla breve, si scopre che molta della stranezza del film dipende da un culto della fine del mondo, che causa la fine del mondo. Amate il pulsante rosso. Ogni strumento da fine del mondo dovrebbe avere un pulsante rosso. (http://goo.gl/jizqS)

Talking about "weird" doomsday movies... KABOOM (2010), by Greg Araki

This is another movie where we're not quite sure what happened at the end. Thomas Dekker is a college kid who's trying to decide whether he's really bisexual by having lots and lots of sex, and there are weird cultists and crazy conspiracies. And Dekker gets kidnapped and then un-kidnapped and his oft-naked surfer roommate turns out not to be a surfer at all. Long story short, it turns out a lot of the weirdness in the film is down to a doomsday cult, which brings about doomsday. Love the red button. Every doomsday device should have a red button. How often do you exclaim “this is the end of the world!”?
Well, just a few days from now the world is going to end - or so predicted the Mayans. And you, how do you imagine YOUR apocalypse will be like? 

We invite you to take part in YouApocalypse, the social filmmaking experiment to create a collective video that will tell what “the end of the world” is from the personal point of view of each participant!
Are we really doomed to die in a catastrophic ending or, more likely, are we doomed to overcome all the little endless tragedies of our everyday life? 


The rules to take part in YouApocalypse are simple:

1) videos may only be submitted electronically
2) videos cannot exceed 1:30’’ in length
3) send us your video through www.wetranfer.com; to do so you need to:
· go on the wetranfer.com website
· add the file in the “add file” area
enter youapocalypse@gmail.com in the “enter friend’s email address(es)” area17122012.17.png
enter your email address
copy and paste the text of following release in the “type your message” area (modify the part in brackets a suggested):

“Video Release Form
AUTHORIZATION TO USE AUDIO-VISUAL
I, (insert here your name and surname), hereby declare that I am the author of and hold all the rights to the video (insert here name of the file) and its contents. Moreover I declare that the people who appear in the video are consenting to do so. I therefore authorize the organizers of YouApocalypse to use, reproduce, and/or publish my video without compensation. I understand that the audio-visual material that I am sending will be used for the purposes of theYouApocalypse project – including various publications on the youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/TheYouApocalypse; on the facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/YouApocalypse/; and on the blog: http://youapocalypse.blogspot.it/ - and may be used for commercial considerations.

Ti capita spesso di esclamare: “questa è proprio la fine del mondo!”?
Beh, tra pochissimi giorni il mondo finirà – o almeno così dicono i Maya. E tu, come immagini che sarà la TUA apocalisse?
Ti invitiamo a partecipare a YouApocalypse, l’esperimento di social filmmaking per creare un video collettivo che racconti “la fine del mondo” dal punto di vista personale di ciascun partecipante!
Siamo davvero destinati a morire di una fine catastrofica o, più probabilmente, siamo destinati a sopravvivere a tutte le piccole infinite tragedie della nostra vita quotidiana?


Le regole per partecipare a YouApocalypse sono semplici:
1) i video possono essere inviati solo in forma digitale
2) i video non possono superare la durata di 1:30’’
3) inviaci i video attraverso www.wetransfer.com; per farlo devi:
andare sul sito wetransfer.com
aggiungere il file nell’area “aggiungi file”
inserire l’email youapocalypse@gmail.com nell’area “inserisci l’email del destinatario”
inserire il tuo indirizzo email
copiare e incollare il testo della seguente liberatoria nell’area “inserisci un messaggio” (modifica le parti tra parentesi come suggerito):
